Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My wonderful class of 1st and 2nd graders are excited, ready and willing to learn, but many of them do not have books of their own and have rarely been out of their own neighborhood. TIME for Kids will help me show them that there is an exciting world for them to learn about and explore!
My enthusiastic students come from a very diverse, economically challenged community.
All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, but they come from families that love them and want them to succeed. Our school is a great place for them to thrive. I am always trying to inspire them about the opportunities that await them in the world outside of their own neighborhood.
My Project
They will devour and treasure each issue, helping to improve their literacy skills, which is critical for all of my students. Just as important, TIME for Kids will broaden their social studies curriculum since we seldom have enough time for subjects outside the core curriculum of reading and math.
My students will be SO thrilled to receive their own magazine each month.
TIME for Kids will provide inspiration for them to keep learning and to set their sights higher for their futures. Each and every day, they are ready and willing to learn together! TIME for Kids will help us achieve our goal!
