My Students
Our school population is 50% low-income and a fourth of the students are English Learners (EL). I work with English Language Learners in grades K-5. My students come from the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, central and south America, and Asia to name a few.
My students work super hard and want to learn and I am there to help them so they can succeed in their classrooms.
My Project
I am requesting soft floor cushions, lap desks and books storage. I work with small groups of students in my classroom or sometimes outside. These flexible seats would allow my students to work in a small group, 3 feet apart or outside under a tree.
I may only have the students for a short period and this way we do not waste any instruction time by moving furniture around.
The chairs and cushions are light so the students can easily carry them from place to place. This furniture also helps to keep the students engaged because it does take some balance since the students' weight keeps the chairs up right.
