Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
After last year, these kids are anxious to learn! They need structure, attention, and compassion. In a Title I school, many of these kids need extra support and attention that only a well-supplied classroom and teacher can provide.
Moving from virtual teaching and learning to being back in a "brick-and-mortar" classroom is very exciting, but it comes with its own challenges.
I was recruited to classroom in a school with no instructional materials (posters, maps, etc,). Teaching Social Studies and Science, these kids need as many visual aids as possible.
My Project
The classroom is quiet - for now. In a few short weeks, they'll come in, ready to learn after a long, hard year.
With the right posters and visual aids, the students will be ready to succeed.
Studies show that what you put on the wall matters, and I want to make sure there is nothing to stand in the way of these kids not only catching up this year, but succeeding!
These posters will allow me to turn a currently empty room into a place of real learning!
