My Project
As a special education teacher, I see firsthand how often my students are given low-interest, overly simplified books simply because they are perceived as incapable of reading grade-level material. Many of them have dyslexia or other learning differences, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have access to exciting, engaging books that reflect their interests and abilities.
My students are bright, curious, and capable in their own way.
I believe that when they are exposed to high-quality books, they not only develop a love for reading but also build the confidence they need to succeed in all areas of life. However, our classroom library lacks the diverse, engaging materials that truly capture their interest.
