This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Sister's Keeper is a female empowerment group promoting sisterhood and support for each other. We have started up a Big Sister reading program with a local Pre-K. We go once a month to read to our little ones!
We are using the Pre-K school's curriculum, focusing on positive virtues and cultural awareness.
Our girls have picked books for each month's reading and we are trying to purchase these books ahead of time.
After our Big Sisters read to the little ones, we donate the books to their classrooms! This donation helps our high school girls AND our Pre-K kids!
