Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from families who are hoping to see their children be the first to graduate from college. As the head of student support, I am charged with the task of ensuring ALL of our students have a chance at college success.

As more of our students apply to 4-year and 2-year colleges, I can see my students without easy access to computers and college know-how at home falling behind.

Access to a computer in a library is very different than access to a computer in the comfort of a classroom, office, or your own home. Access to a 1-on-1 session with a college counselor is very different than a group advisory session. I'd love to offer consistent access to a computer to all of our seniors and our college counselor!

My Project

The computer in this proposal will be used by students visiting our college counselor in her office. As they navigate the complicated online application process for 4-year schools and 2-year schools, my students quite often need the help of our college counselor to accomplish each step. Currently, the computer students use is limping along. A reliable new piece of technology is vital!

With your donation, you are putting a computer in front of a student who would otherwise be relegated to the back of the technological line.

In the current educational environment, students with access to technology have greater access to online resources, applications, tools, and success. My hope is to make these resources available to our most needy students by having a computer available when they need it the most. Thank you for your support!
