This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Winter is here! The vast majority of my students come to school in thin cotton clothes without proper cold weather gear.
I teach a wonderful group of first graders at a Title I elementary.
Most of my students come from homes where parents work long hours at multiple jobs. The vast majority of my students come to school in thin cotton clothes without proper cold weather gear.
My Project
These materials will help my firsties bundle up in warm winter gear. It is a life essential to be warm during this season. Currently, I have many students who come to school with a thin sweater. I am requesting winter coats to give to them for Christmas. Many of my first grade students go out to recess shivering with very thin coats and parents are not able to buy them coats. I am also requesting wipes to help disinfect our room. With the flu season upon us, it is important to clean and disinfect our room so that my students can have a more successful attendance rate during this season. Finally, I requested school supplies for my students for the upcoming year. We are in need of school supplies as the first semester ends.
With your donations you will bring a smile to my first graders as they welcome their brand new coats.
Many of them have never used a new coat before. It will help them keep warm and happy for this winter season. Thank you!
