Help me give my students an unforgettable hands-on kindergarten learning experience! Early learners gain the most through hands-on engaging activities. By varying these experiences with manipulatives such as Counting Scoops and Monkey Balance, students can learn through play!
The diversity within my classroom and school as a whole represents a growing trend in our society; we could at minimum display over 64 different countries' flags if we represented each one. Their backgrounds are as extensive and varying, enriching our school for the better. Most of my students are learning English as a Second Language and for many, my classroom will be their first experience in a school. Setting the stage for a positive learning experience is what the early years of education are all about! It is my job as their teacher to facilitate their learning, to provide them with a safe place to learn, make mistakes, and grow.
My Project
Early Learners increase their knowledge best through play! By expanding students' learning experiences to include different structured and engaging hands-on activities, their minds can form concrete examples for concepts.

For my students, kindergarten is their first formal learning experience. Creating a firm foundation in both literacy and mathematics concepts can set them up for future academic success. In my classroom, this means manipulatives and fun, meaningful activities. Whether it's counting linking manipulatives to build one-to-one correspondence and foster fine motor skills or fostering language acquisition through picture sorting games. Each experience can build upon the last and can be invaluable.
Nearly all of my center activities are ones I have created on my own over my years in early childhood. My goal through this project is to incorporate several new activities to enhance what I already have for my students. The excitement these kiddos have when they see a new learning activity is indescribable. Seeing their understanding and comprehension for me is priceless, and I'm sure you could agree!
