Help My Kindergarteners Succeed During Distance Learning

Help me give my students dry erase boards, crayons, markers, folders, pencil boxes, and other school supplies so they can be as successful as possible during distance learning.

My Students

My students come from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Which means they face different challenges with distant learning. They come from different neighborhoods throughout my city. Although I have yet to meet this year's class, it is not unusual to have students with special needs or that are still learning English.

With the coronavirus pandemic affecting a great deal of Californians, it is becoming increasingly clear that we will have to partake in distance learning at least some portion of this upcoming school year.

Last school year most teachers were caught off guard by the sudden closure of schools, and unprepared for the challenges that would arise from trying to teach students over the internet.

My Project

For my students to be successful with distance learning, they will need to have school supplies and learning tools at home. The dry erase boards, dry erase markers, and erasers will be used daily, students will be able to quickly show me their thinking on their boards, and I will be able to consistently and efficiently check their understanding. With your support, I will also send some needed school supplies such as pencils, crayons, scissors, and glue sticks so the students will have what they need to complete classwork. The pencil boxes and folders will help the students stay organized so their learning time can be as efficient as possible.
