This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright youngsters who are excited to learn and challenge themselves.

My sixth-graders especially love educational games and brain puzzles.

They are experts in Sudoku, quick maze runners, and love playing with language in word games. However, students who don't exercise their brain over the summer can lose a lot of what they learned during the school year. This "summer slide" is especially devastating to kids in high-poverty communities.

My Project

The materials I am requesting are prizes and gifts for my students at the end of the school year to battle "summer slide." These brain puzzles and books will keep students engaged and their brain working continuously so their brains are learning-ready when they start seventh grade in September.

Help my students battle academic loss over the summer by donating fun, engaging, and educational books and puzzles to take home.
