Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember a time when you were in school where you got to share your work and you felt so proud? I want to give that to my students by allowing them to use their work to teach their peers. I just want to facilitate their teaching of each other. I believe that we learn best, by teaching.

My students live in a low income area and really don't have much access to diverse technology.

The foremost technology used in my classroom is an overhead projector. I want to give them access to more. I want them to be comfortable with the technology that is becoming such an integral part of our world. They are so excited to use technology and it makes school that much more exciting for them!

My Project

I would really like to have a document camera in my classroom to allow my students to teach each other. I would use it in writing, to show good examples of student writing, as well as demonstrating the editing process. I would also use it during math. I love to have students share how they solved any given math problem. When they explain it to their peers, they learn through the sharing and the other students get to hear it another way. I think that having a document camera in my class would allow them to own their learning experience.

My students are amazing children.

They love school and they love to learn. The light that sparks in their eyes when they learn something new is a blessing like no other. I love watching my students share what they have learned with each other. I think it provides a valuable learning experience and this document camera would make that so much easier. Thank you for considering a donation to our camera!
