My students need an LCD projector so that we can use our new ELMO document camera.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach bilingual first-graders in an officially 'hard-to-staff' school in a high-need community. My students have grown so much in the first 3 months of school - their brains absorb everything given to them!
And because they are so absorbent, I feel an incredible responsibility to make the most of my time with them. I feel so much of that precious time is wasted making sure these 6-year-olds are following along in the right spot, or that they understand what I'm referencing when I'm explaining how to do a worksheet or how to play a game. I spend so much time going around to every single table explaining the same thing.
For these reasons I posted a request for an ELMO and was so relieved and thankful to have received it. I was unaware, however, that I would also need an LCD projector! I figured I could find one in our school to use, but in our entire K-8 school there is not a single one. So, until we get a projector, our long-awaited ELMO is sitting in a box in the corner of the room!
By donating to this project, you will be directly affecting the learning potential in my classroom for years and years to come by providing visual access of material to all students. We will be able to read a poem together, share their writing, and explain games and worksheets much more effectively, thereby gaining extra instructional and learning time. I plan on staying in this hard-to-staff school in this high-need community, so your contribution towards this projector will be sure to help me have an effect for years and years to come, and will be sincerely appreciated with every use!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
