Help me give my students more exposure to different cultures; reading about different cultures is one important way to expand a student's horizons.

My Project
We live in Maine, a state that historically is not all that diverse. I worry that without exposure to and education about different cultures in the younger years, students tend to grow up to be more intolerant of people different from themselves. I would like to add these texts to my classroom library to act as doors and windows into other communities so kids can learn more about the world all around them! I would use these books primarily as read-alouds that lead to classroom discussions to celebrate how we are all different, and how we are all the same.
It is vitally important for all students to learn about all cultures, so they can appreciate the richness and beauty of the world outside of their front doors.
