This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class has not seen a piece of new technology in over 11 years since we received our one and only class computer.
I teach at a wonderful yet underprivileged school.
Over the years, I have taught some amazing students who have absolutely limitless potential. Most of these students have a thirst for knowledge and are always eager and ready to learn and try new things.
My Project
I have received some funding and am planning on buying an Elmo document camera for our class. However, I need a projector in order to be able to utilize the Elmo. Having this piece of technology will allow me to be able to project science lessons, read aloud lessons, and be able to have students come up and show their individual work with the rest of the class.
My project is very important because I would love for my students to be familiar with some pieces of modern technology.
With this projector, I will be able to teach science more effectively by being able to actually show students experiments on our screen. My current daily read aloud lessons could jump into the 21st century because as I read the students could read/follow along with me as well as be able to see the pictures/captions more effectively.
