Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

After a year of distance learning last year, my students have been working on building community and a love of learning. I teach a group of 26 students from a variety of backgrounds; with 70% of students who are English Language Learners.

Since August, I've been working on a multitude of goals with my third graders such as teaching them more positive ways of socializing with peers, communicating their needs and emotions, critical thinking skills for math and reading, and learning more about the world we live in.

My goal is not just to prepare my students for college, but to make them independent thinkers who can find multiple paths to success and ultimately better their communities. I love that THEY love learning and I am always striving to find ways that build up their confidence, connect to their individual personalities, and support their passions.

My Project

Please consider contributing to my classroom library to make reading more fun and interesting for students! While they already really enjoy reading, we need some help spicing up our library with books that pique student's specific interests and get them more engaged in reading. Students can use these books during literacy rotations, D.E.A.R, free time, or even at home to complete their daily reading logs. Your support will directly help my students develop a greater love of reading and become more independent, self-motivated, life-long learners!
