My Students

Hello. I am very fortunate to be able to teach 40 first grade students in Math and Science daily. It is so amazing to watch my students grow, learn and stretch their brains throughout the year. I absolutely love working with my kids each and every day and I look forward to seeing them doing their best.

We are a neighborhood school, which means my students live near our school.

We are a title one school which means that we are in a low socioeconomic area. My students love to use technology in our classroom. The District has provide us laptops to use while in the classroom. Those laptops are great but students really need to have access to a stylus pen in order for them to be able to write on the tablet portion of the laptops. This would make a world of difference in teaching small groups.

My Project

This will make a huge difference for my students by providing them with technology they need to be even more successful. We often practice addition and subtraction fluency skills and make it a race. Students love doing this. With the use of a stylus their fingers won't get in the way of what they are trying to do.

When we meet as a whole group students can have their laptops in their hands and can manipulate solving problems and working out problems with the ease of a pen.

When we are in small groups we will be able to utilize various games and activities that are individualized to help meet their varying needs as learners.
