Help Military Kids Learn History With Biographies

My students need two sets of biography read-alongs for a literacy/listening center.

My Students

I teach second grade students at the best school ever.

As a former military woman I am honored to teach the children of men and women who are protecting our country. The school where I am honored to teach at is located within a proud military community in South Carolina. My students love learning, and books are a big part of our learning environment. These little people enjoy reading, however, a very tight budget is limiting the amount and type of reading materials that are available. The school will be terribly underfunded this year, and there is no room in the budget for our much wanted and needed literacy/listening center. The school is fortunate enough to have supportive parents who try to help out whenever possible, however money is tight for these hard-working parents as well.

My Project

My students need biography books on CD to add to our literacy/listening center. These books will be used to teach the students history through the use of biographies. The students will benefit from this project because it will be useful for many years and help hundreds of students. The students complete a biography project each year. The project consists of writing the biography of a family member. This is one of their favorite projects. Unfortunately our supply of biographies is very limited. Your help will ensure that my students have every opportunity to succeed in life. Education is the key to success. Please help us obtain these materials for our literacy/listening center and experience the joy of learning.

This project is important because it will help prepare our children to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Our children need and deserve to have the very best education possible. Your donation to this project will be an investment in your future and the future of our children.
