Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having my students identify their own emotions and understand how to problem-solve amongst peers has always been my main goal in the classroom. Before achieving academic mastery, I want my children to feel seen in all areas of their lives. Mental health is a consistent issue amongst society and I want my children to understand that all emotions are normal, but it's what we do with them that make a difference.
I plan on using the different lamps/lighting material to create a more calm environment.
I have also been a fan of how "A Little Spot" books create real-life connections to students between their emotions and their actions. The other materials are visual aides in order to further explain to my students that we are in charge of our thoughts and we are in charge of how we view the world.
Please help me guide my students to being responsible and responsive global citizens.
