This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students only get 2 days a week to have outdoor recess. During my time supervising recess I noticed a lot of them have an interest in playing basketball, but lack knowing skills to play properly.

I want to give them new equipment to be able to use so that during their recess time I can help students learn some basic drills and help others uncover a love for basketball they may not have known they had.

These new basketballs, cones, and other equipment will help me teach and run drills, such as teaching them to dribble, It will also help give the students some much needed organized movement and fun!

I really hope to be able to help students who have an interest learn more about a sport I love & used to play. I want to give my students and the other 4th graders I supervise the opportunity to get better at something they are only interested in for now.
