Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am transitioning from kindergarten to teaching English language learners in 2nd and 3rd grade. The students I will teach are very limited in their ability to speak, read and write English. Despite that huge obstacle, these students are very motivated to learn.

These eager students never let challenges get them down.

They keep an upbeat, can-do attitude despite these trials.

My Project

Students are having a challenging time returning to normal after the past year and a half of interrupted learning. As a result many students are behind grade in reading. They must spend more time reading to catch up to where they should be. Students need to have reading material that they enjoy at home so they can continue practicing reading skills taught in the classroom. Reading books is also a great way to help kids unplug for a constant use of technology. Many of my students say they do not have books in their homes.
