This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a unique, inquisitive bunch and they love to learn. They are like sponges soaking in as much information about the world as they can, yet they still have a curiosity that keeps them wanting to grow and learn even more.
My students are mostly English language learners.
They take pride in their culture, community, and classroom. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, but they don´t let that affect their willingness to learn.
Our school is family-oriented. We genuinely care for one another. We work together with our community to provide the best possible education for each student.
My Project
Unfortunately due to this global pandemic caused by Covid 19, my students have been learning remotely. Although this is a new normal, they are trying their best to stay engaged with school through online learning, attending Google classroom meetings, posting work on Padlets, and Flipgrid.
Distance teaching and learning have been quite a learning experience with different challenges every day.
It has been exciting to learn new ways to teach my students, but it has also been difficult.
One of the challenges I face as an educator is that I don't have a printer readily available to do the simple tasks of teaching from home.
Therefore, I am in need of a printer to teach my students effectively. I need to be able to create challenging math problems, share a page of spelling words to students and their families, or show students a document from my desktop. Having a printer would definitely solve my problem and ease some of the pressure of teaching remotely.
