My Students
Have you ever saved a project or document on your computer never to see it again? My students face this everyday. With a new addition to our computers to minimize viruses, students no longer have a digital locker to store their classwork.
My technology education students are from the only high school in the county that offers this class.
We are a high poverty school with populations of Hispanic, African-American, Caucasian, Asian, and mixed race. My students come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and many families have lost jobs.
My Project
With this external hard drive students will once again have a secure place to save their projects and documents. With the increasing amount of student work being of digital nature, students are needing a location to store their projects. Prior to this year, students had space on the schools server to store their work. This year that space was eliminated and computers lose all saved work anytime it is restarted. This hard drive will reduce the amount student anxiety about whether their hard work will be saved once they leave their computer chair!
With an external hard drive, students will know their work will be available to work on when they return to class.
Countless amounts of student work has been lost causing students to avoid work on computers. With this hard drive, students will see technology as a useful tool again.
