This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade Sheltered English Immersion teacher in a low income area of East Boston. Our K-6th grade school is located in a neighborhood filled with wonderful families. My classroom consists of twenty curious students who love to come to school to learn and spend time with their friends. My students are all English Language Learners who are energetic and motivated to learn all they can. They love being in the classroom and I want it to feel like their second home especially now during this pandemic. They want to be in school more than ever and be comfortable while here. I am hoping you will consider funding this project.

My Project

This air conditioner will allow my children to be comfortable in our classroom without melting. On top of our children having to mask up, our room during warm days is just unbearable. We do have box fans and windows open, but it's not enough. I feel being comfortable is a huge must in order to be able to function properly. This helps student mental health and well being. I know I am not the only teacher in my school that could use one. Please consider donating to my cause the students and I would be delighted every year when summer approaches.
