Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Pre-Kindergarten class of 20 students will be delighted to learn and experience more through growing their own food with our classroom greenhouse. Four-year old children learn from hands-on, engaging activities, that they can experience.

We would like to grow sunflowers, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, lettuce, and more while exploring what plants need to grow, comparing how plants change and grow like us, and what we can use our plants for to help feed ourselves.

We will also learning about composting for our Reuse, Reduce, and Recycling unit, while exploring and engaging with our new greenhouse.

Supporting this project will help 20 students from a 100% free lunch and breakfast rural, public school experience first hand, engaging lessons through planting, taking care of, and harvesting classroom plants.
