Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am asking for a computer to support an exciting new initiative I am launching with my fifth-grade students. Our goal is to begin producing morning announcements, podcasts, and review videos that will not only enhance communication within our school but also provide students with hands-on experience in broadcasting and digital media.
These projects will:
• Strengthen public speaking and communication skills
• Teach valuable technical skills in audio and video editing
• Build a strong sense of school community and student voice
To make this possible, we need a computer capable of running video editing and podcasting software smoothly (e.g., iMovie, Audacity, or Adobe Express). Ideally, this would be a reliable laptop with sufficient processing power and memory to handle multimedia tasks.
This investment will provide lasting benefits, as future classes will also use this equipment to participate in student-led media production. It’s a meaningful step toward integrating real-world technology skills into our elementary curriculum.
