My Project

This year, I was transferred from teaching 5th to 1st grade. It has been an overwhelming chance to completely change classroom management, classroom activities, anchor charts - not to mention a thriving library. I believe literature is so important. It is a high focus throughout our school. Every child can learn to love to read. I believe that it is crucial to have reading as a well developed skill.

I desire nothing more than my students to learn and grow in a classroom that is interactive, engaging, productive, welcoming, and that builds them up, while setting them up for success for years to come.

I know that being able to add to my classroom library will bring a great opportunity for students to hear stories that have powerful social/emotional lessons and provide a restoring break in our day - all while teaching them to love reading.

There are also incredible resources on TPT. They have, and will help me to ensure students are learning through effective lessons where I can add more engaging elements & interactive activities. TPT has wonderful resources that are digital, providing a safe exposure to digital citizenship - and that are highly effective in scaffolding lessons to meet student needs, without much additional time and planning for the teacher. There are also multiple social emotional learning activities that I would love to use to expose my students' to a way of thinking that will help them for many years to come.
