Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At the end of each school year, I enjoy rewarding each student with an "end of the year" gift to send them off! These gifts include tangible resources and fun tools that the children can use to continue building their skills and education while on summer break. I have 9 students moving from pre-k to kindergarten who will receive a story about getting ready for the first day of kindergarten. I have 5 students who will return to pre-k and will receive a Dr. Seuss story about the ocean! Materials such as playdough, fidget toys, and crayons, allow the children to have things to do that are still educational while they're on break. Playdough is a great tool for building fine motor skills, sensory toys are great for regulation and keeping kids' hands busy, crayons will allow the students to be creative in their artwork and explore colors, and the buckets is what will hold all of these goodies and be gifted to the child to use maybe at the beach or pool! Every year my students are so excited when they receive their summertime buckets of fun!
