This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will help me give drawing supplies to students at a Title I school. All of my students are recent immigrants who use art to develop English language skills, express their emotions, and adjust to their life away from home. Many have left economic or climate-related difficulties, escaped war, and are trying to find community and belonging in Brooklyn.
My students create meaningful art projects that connect them to their native country and cultures, motivate positive behavior and academic outcomes, and uplift our school community.
By supporting my students you can help them create meaningful and engaging art projects for their final year of high school. These drawing pencils and high-grade paper are essentials for drawing projects that they can use to reflect on their diverse perspectives and experiences.
