it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience, their passion for creating, and their willingness to be vulnerable through their artwork. Many of them face personal and financial challenges, but when they walk into the art room, they light up with possibility. They are curious, expressive, and determined to grow—not just as artists, but as people. Art gives them a safe space to process, reflect, and shine.
Unfortunately, limited access to high-quality supplies often holds them back from fully realizing their potential.
Prismacolor pencils will allow them to explore advanced blending and layering techniques that transform their work from simple sketches into dynamic, expressive pieces. Special erasers will help them refine their ideas, learn through revision, and gain confidence in their process. Pre-cut mat board and frames will not only protect their work, but present it in a professional, gallery-ready way—something that validates their voices and shows them they deserve to be seen.
Displaying their framed art on the walls of our school brings a powerful sense of pride and recognition. For many of my students, it will be the first time they’ve ever seen their work honored and appreciated in such a way. These resources are more than just supplies—they are tools of equity, empowerment, and self-belief.
