My Students
I teach science to eighth graders at a suburban school in Arizona. My students crave knowledge and experiences that make science come alive for them. They are bright, talented, and fun.
My students are taking physics and chemistry in eighth grade.
That's an amazing accomplishment and it's by choice that they are in the class. Their hunger for knowledge knows no bounds. These students are the scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer geeks of tomorrow. They are ready to take on the world.
My Project
Middle school is a tough time to be a kid. As a teacher, I strive to support my students in their physical and social-emotional growth. These books will help me do that.
A good book allows students to move out of their world and see the world through the eyes of someone else.
As students read these books, students will begin to build empathy and compassion in a safe, healthy way.
These books were selected by teachers and students because of the excellent way the books handle the emotional needs of adolescents. No matter what subject a student is taking, having a good book to read is like having a good friend nearby. That is priceless.
