My Project
“The Power of Food for Hungry Students!”
I am very thankful for the help that I got from various donors from Donor's Choice last year.
I am a math teacher in an alternative high school for at-risk students in Utah who are at risk of not graduating from high school due to many difficulties in life.
I provide bread for my students about 3 loaves of bread daily. Monday is the worst because students may not have food on Saturday and Sunday. We may use up to 4 loaves of bread on Monday. Last year a donor donated peanut butter, strawberry jam, and honey for my students. My sandwich station provided food for students who were hungry and even teachers who had no food to eat.
I have students who are homeless, struggling with mental illness, or learning challenges. With the help of kind donors, we can remove one of the daily struggles in their lives- hunger. Sometimes some students work right after school, they do not have time to get anything to eat or bring dinner. These hard-working students will make a peanut butter sandwich and keep it inside a sandwich bag for dinner.

Thank you and thank you again! A love of learning does not happen easily when you have no food to eat. Your support gives every hungry student at my school what they need: a sandwich to eat. In the past, it was difficult for me to do it alone. While working at my school for the past 5 years, I have heard many of our children say they have no food at home. My goal is to provide every child with a sandwich. Thank you for giving and helping me reach my goal.
