This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need snacks to keep them focused on academics and balanced emotionally. I am a school teacher seeking funding for snacks for my students. Many of my students express that they have not eaten breakfast at home, or miss the school breakfast because they were late or they skip lunch because they don't like the school cafeteria choices. The solution to what can appear to be a serious issue always starts with me asking, "Have you eaten?" Students often share that their breakfast or lunch has been candy or chips. It's no surprise that soon after their snack, they are grumpy and fall asleep in class. With so many of my students being overweight, I would like to have a variety of snacks in my office to provide when students need a quick energy boost to get them back on the path to emotional and academic success.
