My Students
Are you aware of all the environmental issues facing us in the world today? Well, I want to make sure my students are. I want to prepare my students for life in the real world after high school.
I teach science at a small, rural high school.
We are a poorer school on an old campus. As always, there are few funds available for science equipment and supplies. Really for anything beyond the basic textbooks. I am trying to inspire my students to look beyond high school. I want them to realize there is so much more open to them then just what is in the borders of our county. I want my students to go on to college.
My Project
Basic textbooks are fine, but they do not go into the kind of depth and breath on environmental issues that I want my students to be exposed to. I want my students to learn about real situations, how they are being handled and what we need to do to ensure sustainability for our future. By having a classroom library of quality books covering a wide variety of environmental issues, I will be able to provide my students access to the knowledge they need.
In order for this project to happen I need your support.
I have picked out some of the best environmental books available for my classroom. Now I need your help to make it happen for my students.
