Do you remember the first time that you went to school? I want my students' memories of pre-kindergarten to be recorded forever so they can look back and remember their first year in school.
My class has 18 pre-kindergarten students who love learning.
They are excited to come to school and love to explore, ask questions, solve problems and work on projects. At our school, 54% of the students receive free lunch. My students are creative and curious and I want pre-kindergarten to be an amazing experience for them.
My Project
I am requesting 1 digital camera for the classroom.
I want to take pictures of every activity that my students participate in so I can share it with their parents and so they can talk about their day and describe their school experiences.
In an early childhood classroom, it is important to create a strong connection between the students' lives at school and at home. I want to send home pictures of what the children do during the day so they can be a springboard for rich home conversations about their school community and about what they have been learning.
Having a camera not only will help my students preserve their pre-kindergarten experiences forever, but it will also enrich our home/school connections so the parents can become partners in their children's education.
