Help Me Create a Welcoming, Calming Space for My Students

Help me give my students engaging counseling materials to help them learn and practice CBT and mindfulness skills.

My Project

Building relationships with trusted adults help students feel connected and supported at school. Likewise, having safe spaces to go when feeling stressed or overwhelmed support students in successfully recovering from uncomfortable situations.

I want my students to always know that my office is a welcoming place where they can safely land no matter what may be happening in their lives.

Sensory putty, sensory manipulatives, and a calm, welcoming space will help make small-group and individual counseling sessions for high school students fun and engaging. It also provides for a safe space for overwhelmed students to land as they work to become grounded and ready to tackle the rest of their day. A new shelving system will make materials easily assessible to students.
