Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first year teacher at a low income/high poverty school. I will be teaching 2nd grade. As heartbreaking as it is, most of my students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom.
All of my students deserve to be healthy and happy.
Though I cannot control what happens outside of the classroom, I can certainly control what happens inside. My students will come to class feeling loved, supported, and engaged. They are going to love going on adventures through books, building robots, and all around enjoying learning new things.
I look forward to building a positive classroom during my first year of teaching.
My Project
No one should have to live their life in black and white. I want my students to be able to experience the beautiful colors in the world. Having a colored printer would allow me to print materials in vibrant colors that my students will be more engaged with. I want to be able to give my English Language Learners colored pictured so that they can better recognize the images.
This printer would not only benefit my students but my whole second grade team.
The printer will also allow us to print our work right from our classroom. No more running to the copy room on my break.
