This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic 5th graders who cannot wait to get their hands on some computers.

My students are eager learners who love using technology.

While they know the latest apps and understand how to use word processing software, their understanding of how these things are created are limited. My students would love to learn computer programming. Although most of them have some sort of computer or device at home, unfortunately we have to share our resources.

My Project

Having two Chromebooks in the class will allow my students to learn computer programming and maybe even participate in the annual Hour of Code. Computer programming will give my students the opportunity to make connections between science and math, tying in a little of what they enjoy the most; computer time!

Your donations towards our 2 Chromebooks will allow my students to not only learn something new, but maybe even guide them towards a career in computer programming.

My students will see the value in technology as something more than just a screen to play a game on, but it may inspire them to create something using this technology.
