it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in Elmhurst/Jackson Heights, the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic in NYC. They are doing their best to learn remotely through Google Classroom.
Virtual learning has become a new reality for both students and teachers and I'd like to create opportunities that works for them.
I want to find ways to engage students while navigating through what works and doesn't work. I would like to create a seamless and easier experience.
My Project
The document camera will allow for increased effectiveness during instruction. The camera can show close ups and help me to manipulate objects and show examples. During math lessons, I can show students how to regroup; for phonics, I can break up words into parts; for read aloud, I can show close ups of the illustration and text.
The camera is a great tool for modeling what I'd like the students do.
Many of my students have limited resources and difficulty with technology. The document camera would help my model the lesson using the simple paper and pen model that they are familiar with.
