Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My name is Gina Virgini, and I am a recently new school counselor at a PreK–8 school located on the South Side of Chicago. As I step into this important role, I am working to create a welcoming, safe, and supportive counseling space for all of my students.
I serve a diverse group of students ranging from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
Many of our students face a variety of challenges both inside and outside of school, and my goal is to build an office that feels like a calm and positive place where they can come for support, encouragement, and guidance.
With your help, I hope to fill my office with resources such as SEL materials, flexible seating, art supplies, and calming tools that will help meet my students’ academic, social-emotional, and mental health needs. Every donation, no matter the size, will help create a space where students feel seen, heard, and valued.
