Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my second year teaching a fifth grade class in a Spanish dual language program in Brooklyn. My students include a combination of English language speakers and native Spanish language speakers. My students are wonderful bilingual readers and writers. They love science and math, and they are creative and come to school every day ready lo learn. Our school provides a safe space for children of all cultures to come together and learn. I want them to have a great year.
My Project
These Chromebooks would be a great asset to our classroom because it would allow me to reach different learning styles and create leassons that are more engaging and meaningful to my students. Leaning should be fun. Having this computers in the classroom will allow me create centers and rotation station in math to make the same more fun. Help me give my students Chromebooks so they can increase their technological literacy and increase their reading and math skills in an engaging way.
My students will use these computers to to enhance their educational experience in this technological era.
In addition to accessing various educational websites (such as Math Prodigy, Reading Eggs, Lexia, Khan Academy, etc.), my students will be able to carry out quizzes and discussions on learning management systems, which not only help individualize lessons, but also allow students to monitor progress and target weaknesses. More importantly with our shift to the Common Core Standards, these computers will allow my students to participate in project based learning and allow me to incorporate a technology center into our daily center rotations. By using these in centers, I will be able to differentiate students reading and math work while engaging them in their learning.
