Help Me Become a National Board Certified Teacher. Part II!
I need to become National Board certified. This project is for the fee for the second requirement portfolio (Core Component 2) that teachers must create in class.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are great! They love to learn and they are eager to practice the new skills that we learn in class everyday.
They never give up and they try to acquire new English language skills on a daily basis.
My ESOL students are still learning the English language, so the more we practice in class, the more confident and familiar they become with a second language.
Most of my students were born in the U.S. and some of them were born in Spanish speaking countries. My students are able to speak more than 2 languages. My 7th and 8th graders are responsible and mature.
My Project
Board Certification allows teachers to hone their practice, showcase their talent in the classroom and demonstrate their dedication to their students and their profession. Schools with National Board Certified Teachers are characterized by better teacher morale and retention and increased community involvement.
I applied to become National Board in English as a New Language (ESOL); Board-certified teachers are often given opportunities to have an impact way beyond their individual classrooms.
This project is related to paying the fee to submit the 2nd Core Component of process to become National Board Certified. Core 2 requires candidates to gather and analyze students' strengths and needs and use that information to design and implement instruction to advance students' learning and achievement.
