My Project
I would like to grow as a reading teacher so that every one of my students has the opportunity to become a lifelong reader. The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum is the gold standard for reading instruction. This curriculum will allow me to model and scaffold phonemic awareness skills with a multi-sensory approach.
Explicit teaching of reading skills leads to improvement in students’ reading, spelling, and writing.
The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum focuses on sounds in words. It is a science based approach to teaching reading. This curriculum would help my students with disabilities. I would love to strengthen my skills as a reading teacher through this wonderful, science based curriculum. I would also like the pop-it blocks to model segmenting and blending words in a fun, hands-on way. Thank you for your support!
