it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the first time that you were introduced to the alphabet people? Each puppet represented a letter of the alphabet, and it helped students realize what the letter sounded like!
My students come from broken down homes where they are raised by different members of their family.
Not only that, they come to school, and the only good meal they get is lunch. These students have many issues, but when they enter my classroom they are very excited and eager to learn!
My Project
What my kindergarten classroom needs is a set of puppets with the alphabet on them. These puppets have an uppercase and lowercase letter sewn on the front, so children learn to associate each character with a letter. 26 plush puppets have working mouths and arms, and come with an activity guides. What does all of that mean? It simply means that I want to provide my entire class with the best kindergarten year possible! This will bring an eye opening experience to my 5-year-old students. They love to learn, and these puppets will help them build their literacy skills. By giving kids the opportunity to work with different materials, you will help them develop perseverance and curiosity and hopefully HAVE FUN while learning! Research shows that when students are meaningfully engaged and valued for what they know and can do... they work harder and learn more.
These puppets are just what I need to make learning to read easy and fun.
Each delightful puppet helps build literacy skills as the children sing and read!
Your help will ensure that my students have the resources they need to learn to read in kindergarten. Thank you so much for your support.
