My students need an interactive easel/white board that we could use to incorporate literacy and math skills into our meeting.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Glick's classroom raised $514
This project is fully funded
I teach a wonderful kindergarten classroom of 22 students in an open concept school. This can be a challenge as there are two kindergarten classrooms in one room! Our morning meeting is a crucial start to our day.
Our morning meeting is a very important start to our day. We use this time to greet each other, complete our calendar routines as well as promote some crucial literacy and math skills.
Especially in kindergarten, community and character building are very important everyday challenges. Our morning meeting is geared towards making school a warm and inviting place to come to each and every morning. Our morning meeting is a time for students to greet one another, demonstrate acts of responsibility as well as help the teacher complete morning calendar tasks. A large part of our morning meeting is our morning greeting. This greeting is an excellent way to introduce literacy skills in a dialog and/or letter format. Students are active helpers with the message as they fill in missing letters, identify vowels and consonants as well as develop skills in recognizing when to use capital and lower case letters. This easel would not only make our morning message a more hands on experience, but it would also enable us to try some new morning activities such as sentence writing and practicing our numeral identification.
Your generosity will not only make our morning meetings more exciting, but it will also help get my students off on the right start every morning!
