Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a teacher of some wonderful 5th grade students in a self-contained classroom.
We have a small classroom library, though it still needs some improvement.
For starters, a rug to read on would make the library much more inviting! We also really need some high interest, low readability books. Most of the children in my class have lower reading levels, but we don't have lower-level books that interest a 5th grade.
I want to encourage my children to read, read, read, but it is difficult without books that interest them. By providing them with grade-appropriate books, my kids will love reading more and more!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
