My Students
I teach in a Title I school in Northern California. We are located in a rural community within the foothills. My students come from low-income families, that are faced with challenges both in the classroom and outside of the classroom.
My first graders are energetic, full of curiosity, and love to learn.
They love to move and use hands-on learning to help them process new concepts. I set up a safe and supportive classroom that welcomes different types of learning.
My Project
The materials in my project will make our new classroom feel like home. The boarders and letters will help decorate and fill the empty space, and the book bins will help us organize our new library. The bulletin boards and posters will create an inviting learning environment once we move into our new room.
Our school had a fire last year that destroyed about 10 classrooms.
The new building is being rebuilt right now and we are hoping to move into the new classrooms this winter. We are all very excited to get in and set up our new classrooms, and we are looking for help to create a safe, organized, and comfortable learning environment.
