My Students
Kids like to learn when it isn't forced on them and what better way to get kids to learn than to play games. We are lucky enough to have a Smart board in our classroom and now we just need some interactive learning games to take full advantage of it.
My students are a diverse group of second graders in a small school of around 400.
Almost half of my class are second language learners, some are mainstreamed from another class, some are at grade level and beyond, but all of them are eager to learn.
My Project
I am requesting some interactive whiteboard games that will help my students to learn more about language arts such context clues, fact and opinion and parts of speech. Since second grade students are doing the CST for the first time I would like a test taking skills cd rom as well. Plus, to be able to hear it all, a speaker for my laptop that actually works without me having to hit it and play with the cord.
Receiving this software will make learning more fun for my students, they are so excited when I use the Smart board and their eyes light up when they know we are going to play a math game.
I want to see this more often by giving them more games we can play and learn with.
