Help me give my students a holiday that they deserve! During a normal school year, we would be enjoying special holiday spirit and activities together, but this year my students are learning fully remotely.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a fully remote Self-Contained Special Education setting where my students have special needs, varying from learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Emotional Disturbances, difficult home life, etc. In addition, my students come from low-income households. All of my students are sweet and motivated learners. They make my day each and every day and I wouldn't trade them for the world!
My Project
This year my students are learning in a fully remote environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While I do my very best to make our learning fun and engaging each and every day, this year is just not the same. Right now, we would normally be planning fun holiday events, activities, singing songs and dancing together, enjoying a fun pajama day, watching movies together, etc. While we will still do as much as we can remotely, I would love to put a smile on my students' faces by surprising them with some educational and fun holiday gifts before their holiday break. Please help me to bring this vision to life! These gifts will not only put a smile on my students' faces, but they will allow my students to delve into their imagination and creativity while at home, practice foundational skills, and motivate them to want to draw, write, and explore even more.
