Help Little Brains Grow With Tablet Technology!!

My students need tablets for our classroom to be able to participate in current technological resources. Students would use tablets for QR codes for research, interactive reading, and extra literacy and math practice.

My Students

Our students are a combination of military and local urban area students. 50% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many students do not have access to internet and technology at home. For a lot of these students the only attention and educational help they receive is during the school day. We are a Title 1 school that is still behind other districts in the area of technology. These students are falling behind in areas of literacy and need technology in order to practice skills and succeed in the technological dependent word force in the future. Please help me supply this for my students.

My Project

This year I would like to focus on a technology and STEAM centers to go along with our daily reading and math rotations during literacy and math. Having Insignia tablets will promote engagement in these areas and make learning fun. Our district is trying to implement Minecraft into the curriculum but we don't have the necessary technology to do it. These devices would enable students to have access to Minecraft to build deeper level thinking and creativity.

Title 1 students can not afford internet access or computers at home.

School is the only chance they have to interact with these advances. The only time they get to engage in technology is in the classroom. With all the school budget cuts, our school does not have the funds to supply classrooms with tablets or updated computers. Technology is necessary to prepare the students for a workforce dominated by technology.
