This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember elementary school? Having to work on art projects with paint, construction paper and even clay? Well my students don't get the luxury of many of the items that we might take for granted when we went to school. We are asking so a few fun things to become budding artists!

I am the Art specialist in a K-5 Arts school.

We are located in one of the poorest rural areas of the state. Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. I see about 975 students every week, from Kindergarten though grade five. All of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. About 70% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language.

My Project

By helping supply these students with basic materials such as paint, clay tools,scissors and other various art materials, they will be able to continue making beautiful works of art that express feeling. I encourage the children to extend their knowledge by creating original works of art but lately have been limited with the resources we have.

By donating to this project you will be helping disadvantaged, inner-city children continue to create amazing projects and works or art.

You will also be helping this year end great, as well as provide materials that will be used for next year's students. Thank you for considering donating to our project and supporting public education!
